How to Design Schematic Diagrams and PCB Layout using Eagle from Cadsoft.

This is a quick overview on how to design Schematic Diagrams and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design Using Eagle.

1.) Open Eagle: File; new; Schematic
2.) Add components using “Add” function
3.) Connect schematic symbols properly
4.) Switch to PCB layout view
5.) Resize PCB to desired dimensions
6.) place parts strategically: minimize complications on copper trace/routing from pins of one component to another
7.) Use “ratsnest” to calculate the shortest possible routes from one component to another. The yellow line serves as a guide to where the connection shall be made.
8.) use “route” and “unroute” to layout the copper traces of the components.
9.) use “Polygon” tool and set it to solid with spacing and isolation set, and then trace the entire PCB
10.) use “name” function and rename the polygon to GND (or name of your circuit ground)
11.) Use Ratsnest to apply the copper surface (to minimize the copper that’s gonna be etched)
12.) Print it, (having the views only to the layers you want to print, specifically copper, pads, and dimensions).

All You Need To Be Informed On Single Sided Printed Wiring Boards

A Printed Circuit Board (also called PCB), which is also termed as etched wiring board or Printed Wiring Board (PWB), is a board employed to electrically connect electronic elements. Nowadays, Printed Wiring Boards find their use in an infinite range of applications. There are a few types of Printed Wiring Boards, which are employed for different applications. The sorts of PCBs include:

Rigid-Flex PCBs
Flex PCBs
Rigid PCBs
Single Sided PCBs
Single Layer PCBs
Double Sided PCBs
Double Layer PCBs
Multi-layer PCBs

Here, we will discuss a bit more concerning single sided PCBs. How to define these PCBs? What are their pros? Where are they utilized? Read on the post to get answers to these queries.

Precisely what is a Single Sided PCB?

Single sided PCBs are a kind of circuit boards having electronic components placed on its either side, while the conducting wires are connected at another side. It is one of the most popular, yet basic PCB types. These PCBs are made by laminating one thin layer of a thermally conductive and electrically insulating dielectric with copper. In most cases, a layer of soldermask is added on top of the copper layer.

What are the Good things about using Single Sided PCBs?

You must be pondering, how come these PCBs are considered as the most suitable option for a huge list of applications. It is on account of the countless pros that these PCBs have. Down the page are quite a few advantages of single sided PCBs:

Single sided PCBs are simply understandable by the majority of the producers. Apart from this, they are widely used in a wide selection of applications, which makes them well known.
Single sided printed circuit boards are thought of as an ideal decision for uncomplicated low-density designs.
These PCBs experience far less challenges during fabricating process. This helps facilitate the fabricating process.
These types of PCBs can be utilized at lower costs, specially in case of high volume orders.

Where are the Single Sided PCBs Used?

Single sided PCBs find their applications throughout a great number of applications consisting of:

Calculators
Camera Systems
Radio and Stereo Equipment
Industrial and Automotive Relays
Solid State Drives(SSD)
Power Supplies
Printers

The details referred to above, will assist you to understand the worth of single sided PCBs. It will also guide you in finding the correct type of PCB for your application necessity.
